Aster Hobby is proud to announce its intention to produce one of the most iconic steam locomotives ever built—the Union Pacific Big Boy—in 1:32 scale live steam.
 
This announcement celebrates three significant milestones: the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America, the 150th Anniversary of Union Pacific Railroad, and 55 years of Aster Hobby’s dedication to the live steam hobby. For more than five decades, Aster has been recognized worldwide for producing museum-quality live steam locomotives that combine engineering excellence, craftsmanship, and historical authenticity.
 
The Union Pacific Big Boy represents the pinnacle of American steam locomotive design and remains one of the most recognizable locomotives in railway history. As Union Pacific celebrates 150 years of railroad innovation and service, it is only fitting that Aster commemorate these historic milestones with a model worthy of this extraordinary legacy.

In addition to No. 4014, Aster also intends to offer other Union Pacific Big Boy road numbers based on customer interest, allowing collectors to own the locomotive that best reflects their personal preference or historical significance.
