Accucraft Rideon - The GP40 is an American outline diesel locomotive. It is a 4-axle diesel-electric road switcher locomotive built by General Motors' Electromotive Division as part of its Dash 2 line between April 1972 and December 1986.
Our model has a wealth of detail, fitted with spring suspension, full electronic control and optional sound system and/or radio control. The model features an all steel body, ball bearing axles, direct chain drive and working headlights and marker lights. Power is provided by 1400W electric motors making it a very power model.
Models are made in Japan. Painted and packaged in China. Electronics are installed in the US.
Base model includes two power trucks with two DC 24V 350W motors and two 250W motors with electrical brakes per truck, 1.6" scale working couplers, and primed grey paint. The motor with the electric brake does have two additional wires for activating and deactivating the brake. The electric brake requires 12V DC applied to these two extra cables to deactivate; otherwise, the brake is engaged. It does not require continuous power to hold the brake on.
Standard is battery electric powered. Additional costs for installing petrol hydraulic motor.
Dynamic breaks (cosmetic) are standard. They can be removed by request when ordering.
